Montalco is committed to producing a greener product. This is why 100% of our stains are water-based: good for the environment, good for you.
All the material we use is in compliance with the California Phase 1 and Phase 2 Formaldehyde Emission Standards, which are the most stringent in North America. Montalco has also embraced the California Air Resources Board (CARB) production standard – the toughest in the world for formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products.
This means Montalco cabinets are made from sustainable wood products, making them one of the greenest building materials available to consumers. The CARB regulation applies to all panels made for:
- sale
- use as raw panels
- a component of a downstream consumer product, such as a kitchen or bath cabinet, a door, or a piece of furniture.
